Furious Love Island viewer vow to call Ofcom over ‘unfair treatment’ of Omar as he’s axed after Joey row
FURIOUS Love Island viewers have vowed to call Ofcom over the ‘unfair treatment’ of Omar Nyame.
PE teacher Omar, 25, was brutally axed from the villa last night following a heated clash with Joey Essex, 33.
Joey was left fuming after discovering that he and Grace Jackson, 25, had gotten flirty behind his back.
It led to the Towie legend calling out his love rival in the villa as they furiously clashed in tense scenes.
But ITV2 viewers threatened to call the broadcasting regulator after it was revealed that Omar would be leaving the Island soon afterwards – alongside Tiffany Leighton, 25.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one fumed: “Nahhh this is shady as hell, Ofcom will hear of this, JUSTICE FOR OMAR.”
Another added: “On the phone to OFCOM now.”
Someone else raged: “Maybe Omar had to leave before the future bullying got worse and they got ofcom complaints.”
A fourth chimed in with: “Yh reporting to @Ofcom , the nasty behaviour and changing the plot to keep this married couple/producer plant in!”
During an appearance on Aftersun, Omar spoke to Maya Jama live from Majorca as he opened up for the first time on the feud.
He went on to tell the show’s host that Manchester-based model Grace had told him that he was “very attractive” during a flirty villa exchange.
Maya said to Omar: “Why do you think [Joey] was threatened by yours and Grace’s relationship?”
He said: “Maybe Grace had told him that she found me attractive and I was her type.
“Maybe that was something that he didn’t really like.
During yesterday’s Love Island, Joey pulled Omar for a chat after growing concerned about his connection with Grace.
Joey said: “Obviously mate, you’ve got to understand I am hearing things… Grace has told me you’ve said a few things. She’s told you to behave… apparently you’ve been flirting with her.”
Omar interrupted: “But at the same time I’m going about my business… then I’m asking what’s been said and I ain’t being told what’s been said. So, that’s annoying me even more now…”
Joey told him: “I’m not trying to embarrass you.”
Hitting back, Omar replied: “But in the same breath you’re saying it’s no competition, it’s no competition and I’m thinking, I ain’t even trying to compete with you. Why did you say it then?”
PE teacher Omar was then forced to sleep in the villa’s Beach Hut – leaving Joey and Grace in the main bedroom.
Joey has rekindled his romance with model Grace, who he dated briefly last year after meeting in Ibiza.
