Vacant hotel in SE Oklahoma City catches fire twice in one day

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - A vacant hotel in southeast Oklahoma City caught fire twice in one day.

According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, crews responded to a hotel near SE 66th St. and I-35 Service Rd. around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Customers at a restaurant nearby saw smoke coming from the second story and called 911. The fire was found in the north building of the complex and crews were able to knock it down.

Officials say a building on the south side of the same complex caught fire just before midnight Sunday night.

"We called in extra resources, called in multiple alarm to rotate our resources through due to the heat with elevated temperatures," said Battalion Chief Derak Stewart with OKCFD.

Firefighters were also able to get the second fire under control. No injuries have been reported

The cause of these fires and the total cost of damage have not been determined.
