13 injured in Montgomery, US mass shooting

Officials in the state of Alabama, USA, announced that at least nine people were injured in a shooting at a party in the city of Montgomery.

The Associated Press reported that the incident occurred on Sunday, June 23rd.

Reports indicate that at least nine people were injured by gunfire, and four others were hurt in the ensuing chaos and clashes.

Additionally, US police emphasized that the health condition of some of the injured is reported to be critical.

Authorities have not commented on the motive for the shooting.

Last week, a shooting at a supermarket in the state of Arkansas, USA, resulted in the deaths of three civilians and injured ten others, including two police officers.

This comes as armed violence in the US has unprecedentedly increased, with more frequent attacks on public places such as schools, shopping centers, churches, and street festivals.

According to a report by the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), more than 42,000 people in the US lost their lives to firearms in 2023.
