Starting Monday off with a few clouds before blue skies prevail around PDX

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) —We saw cooler daytime highs around the Willamette Valley on Sunday, comparted to our 90-degree afternoons we had Thursday and Friday. PDX maxed out at 74 degrees Sunday.

As we start the new week, a shortwave ridge of high pressure will enter our region bringing with it a brief warm-up along with dry conditions. You can expect Tuesday to be the warmest day over the next five days with Portland's daytime high looking to reach the upper-80s.

While Monday on the coast afternoon highs will hover right around 60 degrees.

But then there's a weather pattern change coming once we hit the mid-way part of the workweek. That's when we can expect a little drop in our temps, along with cloudier skies and a slight chance of an isolated shower or two.

The timing of Portland experiencing some light showery moments will most likely happen in our Wednesday night hours and into Thursday morning.

Not to worry though, we look to dry out and warm back up into the 80s by the start of the weekend.

Keep it locked on KOIN 6 for the latest on your forecast.
