Man charged following motorcycle chase in Jamestown

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Jamestown man is facing a host of charges following a motorcycle chase over the weekend, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

Police said that just after 2:15 a.m. Saturday, they observed a motorcycle with no license plates, being operated by 26-year-old Darius L. Franklin. Police said they were also aware that Franklin's driving privileges had been revoked by the state.

Police attempted to stop Franklin and he fled, which resulted in a chase through the north side of the city. The pursuit ended after he allegedly tried to vacate the bike at his residence and he was taken into custody.

He is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and several traffic violations.

He was held pending arraignment at Jamestown City Court.
