Albany man charged with burglary at Home Depot

NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The North Greenbush Police Department (NGPD) reported the arrest of Chad Alonzo, of Albany, following a theft investigation. Alonzo was charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny.

Alonzo is accused of stealing $286 worth of merchandise from the North Greenbush Home Depot. Police say he dropped the items and fled the scene after being confronted by store employees.

During the ensuing investigation, Alonzo was identified as a suspect and he was taken into custody on June 20 at the Subway restaurant at the Shoppes at Greenbush Commons. According to NGPD, he had been given a "no trespass" order from the store for a previous theft.

Alonzo was arraigned at the North Greenbush Town Court before being remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail without bail due to prior felony convictions. He is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
