Fighters make weight for title double header at Korakuen Hall

Tomorrow fight fans in Japan are in for a treat as we get a title double header. Today, ahead of the show, the men took part in their weigh in for the event.

The main event of the card will see Keisuke Matsumoto (10-0, 7) [松本 圭佑] defending the Japanese Featherweight title for the third time, as he takes on #9 ranked contender Yushi Fujita (12-9-4, 3) [藤田裕史], who gets his first title fight after 14 years as a professional.

On the scales both men were bang on the 126lb Featherweight limit and both looked good at the weight.

Matsumoto claimed that his focus for the bout was concentration, and scoring a stoppage, with Fujita is looking to avenge his stablemate Sho Ishida [石田匠] who lost to Matsumoto’s stablemate, and current WBA Bantamweight champion, Takuma Inoue [井上拓真] back in May.

Regarding making weight Matsumoto spoke about his wife, and explained “She is strict with me when I'm easy on myself when it comes to weight loss," and added "Cooking with shrimp was very helpful in losing weight." Whilst Fujita told the press about his determination to win, stating  "I have no choice but to prepare myself. I can't go home without the belt".

The other title bout on the card will see Korean fighter Deok No Yun (8-1, 6) [윤덕노] making his first defense of WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight title as he takes in hard hitting Japanese challenger Tyson Koki (16-5-3, 13) [王杉康輝]. On the scales Yun was comfortably under the limit, coming in at 167.1lbs whilst Koki was 167.6lbs, a little heavier but also well under the 168lb limit.

Yun stated "This is my first time in Japan. I want to have a good fight and win tomorrow”. Tysong on the other hand stated "I won the belt in Osaka last year, so next time I want to win it in Tokyo." Although this is the chief support bout, in many ways we are expecting this to be more exciting and more explosive than the main event.

For fans wanting to watch this bout it will be streamed live on Lemino.
