Mindy Kaling Had Another Baby
Mindy Kaling announced on Monday (her 45th birthday) that she gave birth to her third child back in February. The newest addition to Kaling’s family is a daughter, Anne.
In her Instagram post, Kaling wrote, “When things are hard, whenever I veer toward cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life. I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline.” Accompanying her caption were some sweet photos of the newborn alongside her older siblings, Katherine and Spencer.
Kaling’s pregnancy was not public, and it seems that she prefers it that way. In 2017, when she was pregnant with her first child, it was Oprah Winfrey who spilled the beans before Kaling herself could announce. Then, in October 2020, Kaling revealed on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert that she had given birth a month prior.
Kaling has also kept the paternity of her children a secret. While people have long speculated that B.J. Novak, Kaling’s former boyfriend, close friend, and godfather to the kids, is their dad, that has never been confirmed. In 2022, Kaling told Marie Claire that the speculation “doesn’t bother” her. “If that’s what is going to be titillating to people, I’ll take it,” she said.
