Which Celebs Went to the Eras Tour in London?

What a weekend to be a Swiftie. Just when you think that the Eras Tour is winding down, Taylor Swift goes to London. Swift performed three nights at Wembley Stadium, and over the course of the weekend she drew out some of the most famous people from both sides of the pond, brought Travis Kelce onstage, and, most importantly to me, sang “The Black Dog” for the first time. So who came out to see Swift in London? If you guessed Tom Cruise and Hugh Grant, you’d be right! There were lots of other stars too, so let’s get into it.

Tom Cruise

In a real “game recognize game” moment, the action star took a break from filming the eighth Mission: Impossible to appreciate someone else who’s as obsessed with entertaining as he is. He may not have attended daughter Suri’s graduation in New York on Friday (not like it seems that she wanted him there, having dropped his last name), but he wasn’t going to miss out on London’s hottest club: the VIP tent on the second night of the London Eras Tour.

Never one to do something half-heartedly, Cruise went to the Eras Tour the same way a young Swiftie would. He exchanged friendship bracelets, he danced along, and he brought an adult man who seemed confused the whole time. In Cruise’s case, it wasn’t a father figure but rather his longtime Mission: Impossible collaborator Chris McQuarrie. He’s the guy in the blue suit just sort of nodding along in every video.

Prince William

Speaking of dancing, Prince William was getting his life during “Shake It Off.”

Not to be a royalist, but this guy has had a tough year, and sometimes you really do need to dance it out. It was his birthday, after all. He brought along two of his children, George and Charlotte. I guess Louis heard that Swift cut “Long Live” from the set list and couldn’t abide by it. Too bad for him, because his siblings got a photo I bet they’ll be lording over him for the rest of his life.

Paul McCartney

While most of the celebs preferred to stay in the relative comfort of the VIP tent, Paul McCartney opted to be in his safe space (surrounded by screaming girls). Here he is bobbing along as a couple young women shriek “But Daddy I Love Him” directly into his face.

Gracie Abrams

Fresh off the heels of releasing her new album (and telling everyone about Swift’s fire-safety credentials), the former Eras Tour opener was invited back onstage to sing her song “Us,” a Swift collab.

Sophie Turner

Of course one of Swift’s favorite dinner companions was going to show out. Turner also partied with Swift and Kelce after Sunday’s concert, bringing along that handsome viscount she was seen snogging back in October. Happy to see that they’re still going strong.

Greta Gerwig

I can’t say I’m surprised that Mr. Gerwig (Noah Baumbach) didn’t tag along for this outing; not really his speed. Gerwig, on the other hand, had the time of her life. At one point, she rocked out to “Shake It Off” alongside Kelce, which hopefully inspired a Ken spinoff that’s actually just a buddy comedy starring him and Ryan Gosling.

Cate Blanchett

This is kind of exactly what I’d imagine if you told me to picture “Cate Blanchett at the Eras Tour.”

Andrew Scott and Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Yes, this is a Fleabag reunion, but that’s old news by now. These two are always hanging out. What’s new intel is the fact that Scott is a 1989 stan, as evidenced by a video in which he grabbed Waller-Bridge and dragged her back to the VIP tent as soon as “Style” started. Taste!

Hugh Grant

Not only did the Notting Hill star attend the Eras Tour, but he got there early to watch Paramore and eat baby carrots. He also fired off this tweet, which is an immediate Hall of Fame post for me.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis

Not much to say about these two. They were in the tent; they brought their kids. They danced a lot.

This Little Trio (Nicola Coughlan, Cara Delevingne, and Jonathan Van Ness)

I don’t think they actually all came together, but it’s fun to imagine.

Salma Hayek

Okay, so Salma’s just as obsessed with Nicola as the rest of us right now.

Ellie Goulding

I know the “Bad Blood” music video feels like forever ago, but Goulding was in the OG squad! Clearly, she’s still friends with Swift as she was spotted collecting friendship bracelets and dancing in the VIP tent.

Piers Morgan

Notably, Morgan had to buy his own ticket.

Travis Kelce

Of course I saved the best for last. Kelce attended all three London shows and had the best night of his life every single night. He brought along his brother Jason and Jason’s wife, Kylie; he hung out with Tom Cruise; and he sang along to just about every song. We really cannot forget that before he was a boyfriend, he was a fan. To me, that’s why what happened on Sunday night was such a big deal.

For context, in the Tortured Poets Department portion of the set list, there’s a little skit as Swift transitions from “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” to “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Usually, two of her dancers carry her limp body over to a sofa, where they prop her up and get her ready for her big number despite her protestations. She’s basically a doll that they’re winding up. On Sunday, Kelce got up onstage to take part in the skit — a first for a Swift boyfriend.

This basically broke the Swiftie corner of the internet. They (we) had never seen anything like it before. Joe Alwyn certainly wasn’t donning a custom snake outfit during the Reputation Tour. The audience went wild, as did the VIP tent upon his return. Most importantly, we got this GIF, which has been playing in my head nonstop for the last 20 hours with no sign of slowing down.
