Can you believe that a group of extreme Democrats in the Louisiana Legislature tried to pass a constitutional amendment to legalize abortion until the moment of birth? They called it “reproductive healthcare.”

Healthcare for who? Not for the baby. Abortions kill babies.

But for abortion radicals, it doesn’t stop there. As if it could get worse. Their so-called healthcare amendment would have not only legalized abortion, but it would have made YOU pay for it. These liberals want your tax-dollars to pay for abortions right here in

Louisiana, even if the baby could survive outside the womb.

You see, Joe Biden has emboldened the pro-abortion activists. I sat in his State of the Union earlier this year and heard him take a swing at the Supreme Court for having the courage to correct the error of Roe v. Wade. They believe that their fearmongering can make abortion a winning issue in the upcoming election. It’s sick, and it’s scary. But, friends, we know that truth wins out over political stunts. Life begins in the womb, and so does equality.

President Biden said during the State of the Union that “all people are created equal.” That includes unborn babies. Louisiana knows that.

When I hear what is happening around the nation, it makes me grateful that Louisiana Right to Life is on the ground protecting innocent babies in our state, helping our mothers, and supporting adoption. Louisiana Right to Life can’t fight for vulnerable children and families if we don’t have their back.

The Legislative Session in Baton Rouge just came to a close. Louisiana Right to Life and our pro-life legislators in Baton Rouge defeated all pro-abortion legislation. Here are four key legislative victories of Louisiana Right to Life that were passed this session:

• You’ve heard the bologna the media serves up to discredit our pro-life movement. The pro-abortion mafia claims the pro-life movement doesn’t care for moms after birth. SB 278 proves them wrong. This new Pregnancy and Baby Care Initiative will give moms and their babies support both before the baby is born and until those precious children turn three. That’s helping moms and babies at the same time.

• Abortion drugs can endanger women’s health with severe complications. Some death-peddlers have tried to give abortion drugs to women against their will. Protecting moms means criminalizing the predators who would poison pregnant women with dangerous abortion pills. Louisiana Right to Life is fighting to safeguard women and babies from an abortion industry that’s out of control. That’s why they passed the Abortion by Fraud Criminalization Act with Senator Thomas Pressly.

• Sometimes, the most loving thing a mother can do is help a baby find a healthy home with an adoptive family. The Adoption Awareness Act will empower birth mothers with trustworthy knowledge about how adoption could help them and their babies.

• When parents face tragedy, they need truth and love. The Compatible with Love Empowerment Act gives mothers whose unborn babies may have a genetic anomaly information that would help them care for their child both before and after birth. Pro-life Louisianans don’t want to leave vulnerable moms alone or overwhelmed. The truth is that these moms have hope, and we don’t expect them to walk hard roads alone or in the dark.
