WBSC boosts baseball & softball development in Türkiye with equipment delivery

The Turkish Rugby, Baseball, Softball and American Football Federation received a World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) equipment package consisting of baseball and softball bats, gloves, helmets, catcher gear and base sets, aiming to further help the development of the sport in the country.

The project involves the allocation of equipment provided by the WBSC to clubs and national teams with the aim of bolstering participation rates and elevating the standard of play by distributing essential equipment to clubs and national teams, which will eventually result in increased participation levels and a notable improvement in the quality of play.

The equipment was delivered to the Baseball National Team, the U-15 Women National Softball Team and seven clubs such as: Kızıltepe Spor Lisesi, Nizip Spor Lisesi, Beşte, Bursa Softbol, Gozde 2019, Assad and Giresun Gençlik Spor.

The next steps in the project involve evaluating the impact of the distributed equipment on participation rates and performance levels, gathering feedback from clubs and national teams, identifying any further needs or areas for improvement and potentially planning additional initiatives to continue fostering growth and development of the sport.

Currently, Türkiye is ranked No. 78 in the WBSC / KONAMI Men's Baseball World Ranking, No. 53 in the WBSC / KONAMI Women's Softball World Ranking, and No. 12 in the WBSC / KONAMI Baseball5 World Ranking. 

Last year, Türkiye hosted the I WBSC Youth Baseball5 World Cup in Ankara.
