AUSTIN (KXAN) -- The Austin Police Department is asking community members to help find anyone responsible for the death of 27-year-old D’Andre Isaiah Day on Sept. 4, 2022.
Day was found dead at the corner of Sixth and Brazos streets around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 4. Detectives learned throughout their investigation he'd been "involved in a disturbance near the intersection of 7th and Colorado streets" prior to his death, with detectives adding they believe his injuries are a result of that incident.
Officials haven't yet determined a motive behind his death and are seeking community assistance on leads. APD detectives said in a release Monday they believe Day's death was an isolated event and there are no extenuating threats to the general public.
Detectives released the following surveillance footage depicting possible witnesses.
Footage also captured three persons of interest along with a vehicle possibly involved in Day's death.
The first person of interest is described as a white male with a skinny build and long, blonde hair. He's depicted below.
The second person of interest is a shorter male with a skinny build and black hair, which possibly had blonde highlights. He's shown on surveillance footage below.
A third person of interest in the footage captured is a Black male with possible dreadlocks.
Police also released an image of a vehicle potentially involved in Day's death. APD described it as a silver 2003-2005 Honda Accord and is seeking community members' help in identifying the vehicle's owner.
Those with information or video surrounding Day's death are asked to call APD's homicide unit at 512-974-8477, its Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 512-372-8477 or by either using the Crime Stoppers App or emailing APD Homicide at homicide.apd@austintexas.gov.
