Florida Panthers’ Stanley Cup championship parade will be Sunday, Fort Lauderdale mayor says

Florida Panthers fans can celebrate the team’s Stanley Cup win with a parade Sunday in Fort Lauderdale, the mayor says.

Mayor Dean Trantalis said the celebration parade will be “on the beach” Sunday, but there are no details yet, including the time or route.

On Tuesday, he spent the morning “hanging out” with team members who were celebrating at the famous Elbo Room, with the Stanley Cup perched on the second-floor balcony. He said he came down “to congratulate them. They are just giddy.”

He said chances are the parade “will be somewhere on A1A on the beach.”

Details are expected later Tuesday.
