Come this Wednesday in Brooklyn, we’ll start seeing some of the most talented young basketball players alive finally realize their lifelong dreams. Seeing people’s hard work pay off — including that of our Bryan Kalbrosky in his latest mock draft — like this is one of the best possible experiences there is in professional sports.

However, the NBA draft is important for other reasons outside of the picks and incredible suits in the green room. It unofficially signifies the real start of the offseason, when many franchises start making moves for next season by using the draft as needed trade leverage and for assets. It’s a truly chaotic time of year that will feel kind of breathless once we’re in the thick of it.
