Man shot and killed in Soho during possible robbery, shooter at large: NYPD

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- A man was fatally shot outside an upscale Italian furniture store in Soho on Tuesday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to the shooting at 43 Greene St. at around 5:15 a.m. and found a 31-year-old man who had been shot three times in his right leg. EMS personnel rushed the victim to the hospital, but he could not be saved.

Investigators are looking into whether a robbery preceded the deadly shooting. The suspect fled in a black SUV in an unknown direction, police said.

No arrests have been made.

Police have not yet released the man's identity. Sources told PIX11 News he's from New Jersey.
