Why was Santa Claus at Barton Springs Pool Tuesday?

Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by Barton Springs Tuesday for a quick swim while in town to make sure everything is on track for the annual Austin Trail of Lights.

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- It's six months until Christmas, and what better way for Santa to get into the wintry spirit than a chilly dip in Barton Springs Pool?

Santa and Mrs. Claus stopped by Barton Springs Tuesday for a quick swim while in town to make sure everything is on track for the annual Austin Trail of Lights. The upcoming season marks the 60th year of the holiday tradition, often ranked as one of the best holiday lights displays in the country.

But the fun didn't stop Tuesday. Santa told KXAN he'll be in town for Austin's Fourth of July fireworks show and concert at Vic Mathias Shores.
