We tried buzzy basics brand Pact and it turns out you can still get a cute matching set for under $100 in this economy

IMO, the best bodysuits are those all-seasons basics in neutral colors — the kind you can pair with everything from flowy skirts and dressy trousers to jeans and cut-off shorts. This one fits the bill.

The first thing I noticed about this bodysuit is the thickness of the material. It's double-layered, so it offers a bit more coverage than your average cotton bodysuit. The fabric is ridiculously soft and has the perfect amount of stretch — it really felt like a second skin.  I also appreciate that I can wear a regular bra underneath without worrying about it showing, thanks to the wide straps and low-but-not-too-low back.

To be honest, the only downside to this piece is that I don't think it would work under tighter-fitting bottoms since it's a brief/bikini-style bottom. So, to avoid any visible panty lines, I'll be pairing this one with jeans — and more flowy skirts and pants.

As the temperatures rise come June, I often start trading my matching workout sets with leggings for those with bike shorts. This set caught my eye because of its ribbed texture. I find that ribbed clothing tends to mold to my body better, contracting and expanding against my skin as needed, which makes it ideal for activewear that I'm moving around a lot in.

I'm a huge fan of the bike shorts that come with this set. The 3-inch contouring waistband had a smoothing effect and made me feel "held in" yet not at all restrictive due to the internal elastic. The fabric is thick enough that they're squat-proof, too. 

As for the matching top, the rounded square neck is super flattering, and I love that it hits right below my ribcage — showing off a tiny peek of midriff while still feeling modest. My one gripe is that I do wish the top came with a built-in bra so I had the option to go bra-less for lower-impact workouts like yoga and Pilates. Thankfully, because of the racerback design, most of the best sports bras I own layer well underneath.

The moment I slipped on this dress, I shouted-announced to my husband in the next room that I planned to live in it for the rest of the summer. It's made with Pact's best-selling Soft Spun fabric, and I can definitely see why the material has been such a hit. It's lightweight, has just enough "give," and true to its name is so soft. 

Historically, I haven't been the biggest fan of column dresses like these because they're often either too clingy in certain places (like my bust and hips) or too baggy in others (like my waist). I didn't find that to be true with this one, though.

I'm 5 foot 4, and this dress hits right at my mid-calf — I consider this to be the "Goldilocks" of dress lengths because it lends a little extra leg coverage, visually elongates my body, and still allows me to show off some cute footwear. The subtle side slit doesn't just add a flirty accent — in the interest of practicality, it also allows me to move more freely. 

10/10. Buy it in multiple colors and thank me later.

The wide-leg Coastal Pants are one of Pact's top sellers — and I'm not all that surprised.  They're comfortable enough to lounge around in while reading a book on a lazy Sunday, but cute enough to wear when meeting up with friends. 

Pact says these pants hit mid-calf on most but for me, they extended just barely down to my ankle. I didn't mind that, though. My favorite feature, of course, is the front pockets — although the comfy-yet-sturdy wide elastic waistband also deserves a shoutout. And the woven, double-gauze fabric — which looks and feels like luxury linen — seems breathable enough to wear on sweltering summer days. 

One thing to note is that although these pants are technically mid-rise, I did find them to be a tad short in the crotch, causing them to sit a bit lower than expected. To solve this issue, I like to pull them up higher on my hips while letting the center of the waistband dip down lower for a flattering V-shape in the front.
