Naked Cats & Meetings With the V.P. Are All in a Day's Work for Chrissy Teigen's Daughter Esti
Summer break has been a busy time for Chrissy Teigen’s 17-month-old daughter Esti, who she shares with John Legend. The toddler has been enjoying the heck out of her break from preschool, including hanging out with a naked cat, going down a water slide, and, oh yeah, meeting Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House. NBD, right?! The Cravings author caught it all on camera, and the sweet glimpse into Esti’s life feels like something out of movie!
“Esti appreciation post ????????????” the proud mama wrote on Instagram today. “So much light added to our life from this fearless little being!”
In the first photo, Esti looks like a little doll. She’s dressed in a white shirt with bright orange-and-pink flowers, with a pink bow headband in her hair. Esti’s sitting in a toddler swing at a playground, smiling on the sunny day and looking beautiful. She traded her cute clothes for a swimsuit, life jacket, and swim shoes in the next photo. Her hair is completely wet as she smiles at the bottom of a water slide, clearly having the time of her life!
Other moments happened at home, with Esti playing peekaboo next to a doctor playset in one photo and playing with the family’s pet cat in a video. In the latter clip, Esti wears animal-print pajamas as she sits on the floor playing with toys. In one hand, she clasps the naked cat next to her chest like a stuffed animal. The cute, wrinkly little thing just patiently hangs out with his human bestie, as Esti stands up and walks with the cat still in her arms. She must be an animal whisperer, because she moves so effortlessly with the cat not caring at all.
The last picture truly shows how fearless Esti is. Posted at the end as if it was an after-thought, Esti points up at V.P. Harris dressed in a pretty gingham pink dress and matching bow. The V.P. leans down to smile at the sweet little girl, and we are thoroughly impressed.
Esti met the Vice President after Teigen joined Harris on stage at the White House on June 20 to host a Q&A session for reproductive rights activists, physicians, and influencers. At one point during the event, she turned to address her daughter Luna, 8, who was sitting in the audience with her dad, her sister Esti, and her brothers Miles, 6, and Wren, 1.
“Luna, my girl, I hope that you see all of the incredible people, mainly women, in this room, and I hope that when you grow up you want to fight for justice in the way that we do, unapologetically and without fear, and know that your body is your own, and nobody can take that away from you,” she said, per Elle.
Afterward, the Chrissy & Dave Dine Out star shared more details about the experience with the outlet. “Esti immediately ripped a book that was titled White House History. And the vice president was just telling us, ‘There’s one thing in this room that is the oldest thing in all of the White House.’ I was like, ‘Tell me it’s not the book,’ but it wasn’t. It was the armoire,” she said. Oh gosh, that would have been awful!
Overall, though, the experience created a core memory for Teigen — and hopefully her eldest daughter (Esti is still to little to remember almost ruining a piece of American history, unfortunately).
“Maybe it’s a selfish thing, but to have her get to see me up there speaking to our vice president made me so happy,” Teigen added. “She said she was proud after, and that made me proud. And I know that she’s going to do really big things too, and I’m excited for that. I’m excited for her to be unapologetic and staunch in her convictions and be ready to fight this fight, because it’s not going to end anytime soon. We’re going to take two steps forward. There’s always going to be another back, but hopefully we can always make our way towards progress.”
