The controversial Irish American biblical scholar, and historical-Jesus specialist, John Dominic Crossan (born in 1934 in Ireland; Doctor of Divinity degree, St. Patrick's College, Maynooth, 1959) is a prolific, learned, and gifted writer. His 2022 book Render Unto Caesar: The Struggle Over Christ and Culture in the New Testament (HarperOne/ HarperCollins) is a learned but accessible book, thanks to his gift for writing.
