7 movies we can’t wait to watch on Netflix in July

The days of Netflix being stuffed to the brim with beloved licensed movies from yesteryear have ended, but there are still plenty of notable additions to the streamer each month. Sorting through them can be time-consuming, though, which is why we scour the new releases and put together a list of the best movies coming to Netflix for you.

In July, the spotlight is on Eddie Murphy, who will reprise his role as Detroit cop Axel Foley in the fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie. It's been 30 years since the last entry, but it's actually the second character Murphy has pulled out of retirement in the last few years, following Coming 2 America. Other highlights this month include Easy A and Spider-Man 2.

It seems to come and go from the Netflix library every few months or so, but Back to the Future is back on the streamer. Relive Marty McFly's first whirlwind adventure, in which he travels back to 1955 and accidentally makes his own mother fall in love with him.

Call Me by Your Name (July 1)

Based on the 2007 novel of the same title by André Aciman, Call Me by Your Name follows the romantic relationship between 17-year-old Elio Perlman (Timothée Chalamet) and 24-year-old graduate assistant Oliver (Armie Hammer). If you saw Challengers and are looking for more movies like it, the two films share a director.

Easy A (July 1)

Early in her career, and long before her more audacious collaborations with the likes of Yorgos Lanthimos and Nathan Fielder, Emma Stone starred as seventeen-year-old high schooler Olive Penderghast in the teen rom-com Easy A. It's sweet, funny, has a great soundtrack, and holds up remarkably well for a 14-year-old movie.

Spider-Man 2 (July 1)

Years before the MCU kicked off, Spider-Man 2 was the pinnacle of comic book movies. In fact, some might argue it's still in the upper echelon after all these years, with a pitch-perfect villain in the form of Alfred Molina's Otto Octavius, some of Tobey Maguire's best work on screen, and a heartbreaking story about purpose and resolve.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (July 3)

40 years after the first Beverly Hills Cop and 30 years after its last entry, Eddie Murphy is back as Axel Foley for this Netflix original movie. In this long-brewing sequel, Foley returns to Beverly Hills after his daughter is threatened. Along the way, he reunites with John Taggart (John Ashton) and Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) as a conspiracy begins to unravel.

Bad Boys (July 8)

Beverly Hills Cop isn't the only iconic buddy cop franchise still going strong decades later. Just weeks after Bad Boys: Ride or Die made its theatrical debut, the original Bad Boys is coming to Netflix. In the first film, Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) have to protect a murder witness from an international drug dealer.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (July 27)

Based on the 1960s NBC spy series of the same name, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is a modern reimagining of the story with Henry Cavill in the lead role as CIA agent Napoleon Solo. He joins up with KGB agent Illya Kuryakin (Armie Hammer) to stop Nazi sympathizers Alexander (Luca Calvani) and Victoria Vinciguerra (Elizabeth Debicki) from building a nuclear weapon. It's a Guy Ritchie movie, so you know it's going to keep you entertained.
