Talks underway in the near future for Royal and Hojbjerg

AC Milan have already been heavily linked with Emerson Royal in this off-season period with a move thought to be close. Now, the Italian giants have reportedly expressed an interest in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, too.

That’s the latest from the print edition of Corriere dello Sport (25/6/24), as relayed by Sport Witness. Apparently, the Serie A outfit “will soon begin negotiations” for the Spurs pair.

Milan are thought to be eager to bring in a new defensive midfielder, and though they have plenty of options on their radar, Hojbjerg is one of them, and his preference to play Champions League football could be of benefit to the Rossoneri.

Emerson Royal to AC Milan links continue

Meanwhile, talks regarding Royal’s move to Italy are expected to take place soon and there is a belief that Hojbjerg could also be included in those discussions.

Royal is thought to have already agreed terms with Milan, with a €20m (£16.9m) move believed to be in the works. However, the Italian outfit are keen to bring in attacking signings before they look at their defensive roster.

Hojbjerg has already been linked with many clubs this summer, including Galatasaray (Sabah via Sport Witness), Fulham (GiveMeSport), Atletico Madrid (Daily Mail), Napoli (Corriere dello Sport), Borussia Dortmund (BILD), and Fenerbahce (Takvim).

Royal has publicly revealed he will be discussing his future with Spurs at a meeting in the next few days (UOL).

Royal appears to be nailed on for this AC Milan move, which is great for him.

Hojbjerg, on the other hand, has lots of options and will need to think about his next move very carefully. He could do a lot worse than signing for Milan, though.
