BAJ partners with jewellery consultant Liz Olver

The British Academy of Jewellery (BAJ) has partnered with professional jewellery consultant Liz Olver, who will help its HNC Art and Design 3D Design (Jewellery Design and Manufacturing) students by providing guidance and feedback on their designs, the industry and more.

Olver is an experienced jewellery industry professional with a demonstrated history of working in the luxury jewellery sector.

She is skilled in design and product development with expertise as a mentor, writer and educator; adept in both the creative and commercial fields.

Since graduating from the Royal College of Art and University of the Arts’ Central Saint Martins, Olver is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and is the author of three international publications: The Art of Jewellery Design, Jewellery Making Techniques and The Jeweller’s Directory of Shape and Form.

BAJ’s HNC students have free range to design a unique piece of jewellery; they will
experiment and work on their designs, get interim feedback from Olver to refine their ideas and process, and then finalise their creations.

Eleni Zolia, course leader, said: “Liz has great experience working in the jewellery sector. Her involvement in the HNC Project is a great opportunity for the students to receive some valuable feedback in the development of their ideas from a very successful professional and get advice for their future endeavours.”
