Yahya Saree, spokesperson for Yemen’s Houthis, has announced that they attacked a cargo ship in the Arabian Sea with a new ballistic missile.

He stated on Tuesday, June 25th, through a message that the attack on the “Israeli” ship was carried out with a precise and complete new ballistic missile.

The Combined Maritime Forces in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden said on Monday, June 24th, that a Liberian-flagged ship in the Arabian Sea was targeted by a missile but was not hit.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations also confirmed that there was no damage to the ship’s crew, which was sailing 246 miles off the port of Nishtun, Yemen, at the time of the attack and continued its course.

Yemen’s Houthis, supported by the Islamic Republic, targeted Israeli-affiliated commercial ships in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza during the conflict with Israel.

Since October last year, tensions in the Middle East have escalated due to ongoing conflicts involving Yemen’s Houthis targeting commercial ships linked to Israel in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

These incidents have underscored heightened regional instability in recent months, impacting maritime security and international trade routes passing through the region.
