Troy woman pleads guilty in drug trafficking conspiracy

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy woman pleaded guilty to involvement in a marijuana and money laundering conspiracy on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Consanga Harris, aka Sondy, 63, may face up to 20 years in prison following sentencing.

In pleading guilty, Harris admitted to being a member of the shipment of thousands of kilograms of marijuana and THC from Fresno, California to places throughout the country, including the Capital Region. The Attorney's Office says that Harris admitted to receiving marijuana packages and was paid between $300 and $400 per package.

It is alleged that Harris received 90 packages containing approximately 700 kilograms of marijuana from March 2018 to May 2022. Along with prison time, Harris may face a probation period of three years to life and a fine of up to $1 million.
