Skinner, who helped lead the Texas volleyball team to back-to-back national championships, was named the Big 12's female athlete of the year while Disu was tabbed one of the Big 12's scholar-athletes of the year.

Skinner was a force all season for the Longhorns, winning the most outstanding player award for the 2023 NCAA volleyball Final Four and claiming VolleyballMag.com's national player of the year honor. She was named a first-team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association and was a first-team pick for the Big 12's All-Academic team.

She won the Honda Sport Award for volleyball and was a finalist for the Amateur Athletic Union's Sullivan Award for most outstanding female athlete.

Disu picked up a Big 12 scholar athlete award for the second season and helped the Longhorns to the second round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament in March. He scored 15.5 points and grabbed five rebounds per game in 25 games for the Longhorns after battling a foot injury in the offseason that kept him out the first nine games. He was named the Big 12's most improved player and was a first-team All-Big 12 pick.

In the classroom, Disu earned his bachelor's degree in human dimensions or organizations in 2023 and he carries a 4.0 GPA in his studies toward a master's in sport management.
