Yet just a year later, Dec sparked scandal when he was spotted without his wedding ring on his TV show with BFF Ant McPartlin, Saturday Night Takeaway.
He later clarified the situation to The Mirror and said: “I didn’t realise until afterwards when someone said there’s a bit of a thing online.
“I left it upstairs in the dressing room – I didn’t think anyone would notice. It’s only a tiny little thing!
“There’s no drama – thank God. There’s nothing more sinister in it.”
The couple have two kids, with their first child Isla Elizabeth Anne Donnelly, born in September 2018.
The family then welcomed a son, Jack Anthony Alphonsus, in July 2022.
FINAL TAKEAWAY
Ant and Dec choked back tears as they wrapped their final episode of Saturday Night Takeaway earlier this year.
The show came to a close after a whopping 20 years.
Fans now believe the show will not return after spotting a key “clue.”
At the time, an emotional Declan told the live show audience: “We’ve truly adored every second . . . what’s happened is beyond our wildest dreams.”
Ant then said: “This is the kind of show Dec and I watched every Saturday night growing up, so it’s been an honour and a privilege to have made this show and to have been part of your Saturday nights for over 20 years.”
Dec added: “When we started back in 2002, we thought we’d be lucky if we got to do this for a couple of years — what’s happened is beyond our wildest dreams.
“We’ve truly adored every second but there’s one thing we’ve never, ever forgotten and that’s the fact this isn’t our show — it’s your show.
“So we’d like to say a massive thank you to you, our incredible audience.”
