Love Island fans brand star ‘the real villain’ after Ciaran’s bitter row with Harriett

LOVE Island fans have branded bombshell Matilda Draper the real series villain after spotting her snaky move.

Last night Ciaran Davies clashed with Harriett Blackmore during a dramatic game of Never Have I Ever after claiming some people in the villa are ‘two-faced’.

As things escalated, he retaliated to being called “embarrassing” by reminding Harriett that she’s always been second best to other girls in the villa.

Initially, she appeared to miss the spiteful remark, but Matilda, 24, made Ciaran, 21, repeat it to her, which eventually led to tears.

One person commented on Instagram: “Matilda gas-lighting the situation then running to Harriett.”

Another said on X: “Real villain is Matilda, that instigation was PEAK. Nobody was gonna talk until she started fanning the flames.”

A third said: “Matilda was messy as f**k for making sure Harriet heard what Ciaran said by asking him to repeat it.”

A fourth wrote: “Its the fact that Matilda even asked Jess to repeat what Ciaran said. She was being messy.”

The row began when Ciaran told his fellow Islanders: “People will make comments and then straight after be all nice to me and say, for instance ‘ah you need to be careful with him’ but then ‘ah you’re actually really good Ciaran with her, you treat her so well’.”

He added: “Cut the bull****, that’s Harriett.”

Reacting to the incendiary comments, Harriett, 24, said: “Cool. When you’re making comments about other islanders and I’m having a conversation with my friend, I’m going to say that.

“Honestly, you’re so immature it’s actually embarrassing.”

Ciaran clapped back: “I haven’t been second choice like three times in here, so.”

Ronnie Vint, who is now coupled with Harriett, intervened, telling Ciaran: “She’s first choice now though, brother.”

However, upset Harriett had heard enough and stormed off.

Following the scenes, Love Island fans exploded on social media with their reactions.

One said: “Ciaran relax omg and Jess adding her 2pence, she hates Harriet’s guts  most drama we’ve had all season.”

A second wrote: “Ciaran is such a nasty person.”

“Ciaran and Nicole also need to go, there’s was no need for that comment, he’s vile and Nicole just sitting there and doing absolutely nothing, get off my screen,” said a third.

Love Island airs the fallout from the dramatic scenes tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

Love Island's biggest Ofcom complaints

Love Island has been hit with thousands of complaints over the years - here are the most moaned about moments

Dani’s tears: in 2018, Ofcom received 2,644 complaints when Dani Dyer was left in floods of tears over Jack Fincham during the Casa Amor. Viewers felt the show had been manipulated to make it appear Jack was going to cheat, when in fact he wasn’t. And poor Dani didn’t learn the truth for days.

Maura fury: Although she later won over the public, Maura Higgins got off to a bad start in 2019. After arriving as a bombshell, she made a beeline for Tommy Fury – who was coupled up with Molly-Mae Hague – and tried to kiss him while straddling him on a daybed. 709 people accused her actions as ‘sexual harassment’.

Faye explodes: The 2021 series of Love Island remains the most complained series about yet. 4,330 complaints were made to Ofcom after Faye Winter received a postcard from Casa Amor, which appeared to show her fella Teddy Soares kissing a bombshell. But a whopping 24,763 complaints flooded in when Faye came face-to-face with Teddy again. Faye’s shocking outburst even sparked a reaction from male domestic abuse charity, ManKind Inititive, who branded her ‘unacceptable’.

Bish bash: The following year, the fallout from Movie Night sparked 3,617 Ofcom complaints. Fans of the show were horrified by Luca Bish’s harsh reaction when Gemma Owen was shown speaking to bombshell Billy Brown.

Muggy Mitch: Almost 1,000 Ofcom complaints flooded in last year in the final week of Love Island. Viewers were unimpressed with Mitchel Taylor’s treatment of Abi Moores and felt he was ‘targeting’ her. Fans even urged Love Island bosses to check on Abi’s ‘mental health and welfare’.
