Deadly floods in Bamyan province, Afghanistan, kill 17
Local sources in Bamyan Province have reported devastating flash floods in parts of the province, resulting in the loss of 17 lives.
According to reports, the floods occurred earlier this week in sections of Yakaolang District, Bamyan Province, causing significant casualties and damage to local communities.
Local officials of the province also confirmed today, Thursday, June 27th, that flash floods on Wednesday claimed several lives.
Abdul Saboor Sighani, spokesman for the security command of the Bamyan province, stated that 17 members of two families lost their lives due to Wednesday’s flash floods.
He mentioned that the bodies of 10 victims have yet to be recovered, and efforts are underway to assist those affected by the floods.
Areas including Hazarchishma, Duzdan Chashma, and Pudintoo in Yakaolang District have been severely affected by Wednesday’s flash floods.
The local administration and humanitarian organizations are mobilizing resources to provide relief and support to the affected communities. Efforts are focused on locating missing persons and ensuring assistance reaches those in need promptly.
