EERIE images show a derelict hospital that has been left to rot away – with abandoned equipment and lights still on years after.
Fans might recognise the creepy corridors of the clinic from an iconic Netflix show.
Chilling images show hospital beds deserted in the hallways and medical flyers scattered on the floor.
As if abandoned in a hurry, the bed-lined wards are still equipped with functioning televisions and IV drips.
Operating rooms were stripped bare with just a gurney left behind, illuminated by lights set ready for surgery.
The Morgan Memorial hospital was briefly revived when it was used as a set for Netflix‘ hit series Stranger Things.
In January 2024, the filming of the final season of the popular show took place on the premises of the hospital
Pictures of the film crew scouring the location surfaced online.
The crew had lights positioned around the site and signs pointing the way to the set.
The forsaken building was transformed into Hawkins Memorial Hospital, which the viewers are familiar with.
The HMH sign was placed next to a bike rack with two vintage bicycles on it, close to the entrance of the old hospital.
An urban explorer Leland Kent, known as Abandoned Southeast, discovered the spooky site in Morgan County, Georgia, USA.
He said: “The Morgan County Hospital Authority was established by the Morgan County Board of Commissioners in 1957.
“A new hospital was built in Morgan County, Georgia, after five years without one.
“Morgan Memorial Hospital opened its doors on New Year’s Day 1960.”
With time, facilities at the Memorial Hospital became outdated for many medical uses, and in 2015, work on a replacement structure had begun.
The hospital shut down after 58 years in service in 2018 – when the staff and patients had moved to the newly opened Morgan Medical Centre.
Leland added: “In December 2018, 19 patients were relocated to Morgan Medical Center, and the old hospital was permanently closed.”
But, at the height of Covid-19 pandemic, the county forked out $100,000 annually to maintain the hospital in good condition.
The Morgan was being kept up in case it had to be re-opened within a few days to assist with throngs of patients.
But today, it remains frozen in time with no plans of being used again.
Stranger Things’ fifth and final season will land on screens in 2025.
