But again, Rohit seemed to have got emotional after India beat England by 68 runs on Thursday in the T20 WC 2024 semi-final to seal a date with South Africa in the summit clash. Following the 68-run win against England in Guyana on Thursday, Rohit Sharma was asked about Kohli’s form at the post-match presentation. Hailing Kohli as a quality player, Rohit said Kohli would fire in the final.

“He’s a quality player. Any player can go through that. We do understand his class and his importance in all these big games. Form is never a problem because when you’ve played cricket for 15 years, it isn’t a problem. He is looking good, the intent is there. He’s probably saving for the finals,” Rohit told Michael Atherton in the post-match interview.

Batting first, India rode on knocks from Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav to post 171/7 in 20 overs. In reply, England succumbed to the spin-twins of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel as the duo shared six wickets between them. In the end, England were all out for 103 in 16.4 overs.
