Sports briefs: Pacifics stage late rally for wild win

The San Rafael Pacifics led by six runs early in the game but needed to rally in the last three innings to pull out a 14-10 road victory against the Vallejo Seaweed on Wednesday night.

San Rafael (20-9 Pecos League) jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the fourth inning but Vallejo (9-16) scored five times in the fifth inning and three more times in the sixth to take a 10-8 lead.

The Pacifics got one run back in the seventh, took the lead for good with a three-run eighth, then tacked on an insurance run in the top of the ninth.

Aki Buckson drove in a team-high three runs while Esai Santos and Jakob Bouhuys both had three hits. The Pacifics took advantage of four Vallejo errors and 10 walks.

Little League

Twin Cities, Mill Valley, and Novato North extended their unbeaten starts to the District 3 All Stars 9-10s campaign following wins on Wednesday.

Twin Cities posted a 15-0 win against San Francisco National, Mill Valley defeated San Francisco National 6-4, and Novato North edged Ross Valley 3-2. All three teams are 3-0 with Tiburon Peninsula a game back at 2-1 following a 10-2 win against Novato South.

Twin Cities has been the most dominant team so far, posted a run differential of 41-3. Twin Cities and Mill Valley were set to face each other on Thursday evening. Novato North faces Tiburon Peninsula on Saturday.
