The #LUFC Breakfast Debate (Friday 28th June) Leeds table €15m offer for Colombian star

Good Morning. It's Friday 28th June, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds table €15m offer for Colombian star

Leeds have tabled a €15m (£12.7m) offer for Colombian star John Arias according to the various reports in the media.

The 26yo applies his trade in Brazil for Fluminense, who sit bottom of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. Despite their lowly position, Arias has gained a lot of attention, especially from English clubs. West Ham, Burnley, Wolves and Crystal Palace have all been linked with the versatile winger / attacking midfielder.

He's naturally a right footed player but is equally as comfortable cutting on from the left. He's similar in stature to Wilfred Gnonto. Standing 5ft 5', his low centre of gravity allows great balance whilst running with the ball, or weaving in and out of players. He's also not shy in front of goal!

If Leeds have indeed made a bold €15m offer, who's leaving? Summerville, Gnonto and Gray have all been linked with moves away from Elland Road, but very little has been publicised by way of actual offers. Speculation is growing that clubs may wait until the last minute knowing Leeds have to sell probably two out of the three, and force a reduced price to be accepted!

Perkins signs for Leyton Orient

Sonny Perkins will see out the final year of his contact back at Leyton Orient, after agreeing a season-long loan with the League One outfit!

The 20yo joined the Whites after refusing to sign West Ham's contract, having been tapped up by Victor Orta. Perkins, like so many others, failed to push on, rarely even making the first team squad. With one year left on his his contract, it's fair to say, this will be the last we see of him!

Shackleton to sign for Blades

Jamie Shackleton is set to sign for Sheffield Utd in the next few days, according to transfer journalist Pete O'Rourke.

Sheffield United have money problems, and will start next season on -2 points after an independent EFL disciplinary commission found them guilty of defaulting on a number of payments to other clubs for players bought during their 2022-23 promotion season.

Bringing Shackleton to Bramall Lane on a free transfer makes perfect sense. He can operate in many different positions, he's cheap and doesn't mind sitting on the bench. Shackleton leaves Elland Road after 18 years at the club, having joined the Academy aged just 6. I'm sure we all wish him well!
