As any Potter fan knows there are loads of unusual names from the franchise, but the mum and dad-to-be decided to take things a step further with a “cringe” twist to a popular character’s name.

Posting in a popular Facebook group dedicated to weird and wacky baby names, one user wrote: “I knew a couple who were huge Harry Potter fans and they had to be talked out of naming their first born daughter Dumbledora (DumbledorA!!!)”

Unsurprisingly, people had mixed feelings about the wizard-inspired name.

One commented on the post: “Honestly James, Lilly, Harry and most of the Weasleys (excluding Percy and Ginevra, Ginny is fine) are the only acceptable names from this franchise.

“Everything else is good for a pet, not a human child.”

But others were on board with the Potter-themed name and even confessed they chose something similar.

“I can’t say much, one mum confessed, “we almost named our son Olivander Leviticus. We settled for Oliver Levi.”

Dumbledore is a fan favourite character in both the books and films, but people weren’t convinced that was a good enough reason to name your newborn after the famous wizard.

“I love Harry Potter but this is the dumbest thing I’ve seen in a long while,” one wrote.

Another joked: “Never name your kid something that starts with ‘dumb’.”

And someone else put it a bluntly: “NO. Holy terrible.

“You couldn’t have done Molly, or Ginny, or Luna, or f***ing HERMIONE? Dumbledora is officially the worst name here so far. CRINGE. CRINGE.

“That’s ridiculous.”

Someone else added: “Yikes. I hope the talking them out of it really worked.”

The unusual name isn’t the only one that’s caught the attention of the internet though.

Facebook users were recently stunned to discover a couple plan on naming their little one after a popular Kesha song, Timber.

The couple also decided to switch up the spelling to ‘Tymber’ to make it even more unique.

The reason for the name? Because the song is ‘their song’ and so they hold it in a special place, the sister explained.

“My brother didn’t want to tell me the name because he didn’t want me to steal it if I end up having a baby girl before they have one.

“No way in hell I would use that name,” she slammed.
