Cringe moment Jill Biden congratulates Joe, 81, ‘like a child’ after debate horrorshow as she says ‘you did a great job’

THIS is the cringe moment Jill Biden congratulated husband Joe “like a child” after his debate horrorshow against Donald Trump.

The elderly leader of the free world staggered and stumbled through his 90-minute clash with Trump, prompting calls by top Democrats that he should consider ending his re-election bid.

But despite Biden’s disastrous performance on CNN, the first lady still praised him for “answering all the questions” as he “did a great job”.

The US president, 81, seemed almost childlike as lively Jill, 73, complimented him at a rally yesterday night in Georgia.

“Joe, you did such a great job answering every question. You knew all the facts,” she said.

Biden’s expression then turns to a big wide smile – and Jill continues as he stands near motionless on stage.

Following the debate, his adoring audience erupted in cheers and screamed that Trump had “told lies” the entire time.

Biden later told journalists in a Waffle House that he will run for office in November.

Viewers couldn’t believe what they were seeing during the exchange, with one Democrat comparing it to a mother giving their child “two scoops of ice cream instead of one”.

Another added: “This intro of Joe by Jill sounds like a mom congratulating her toddler for using the potty for the first time.”

Yesterday, Biden locked horns with former President Donald Trump, 78, in the first official debate of the 2024 election cycle.

During the showdown, the pair clashed over a raft of issues ranging from immigration and January 6 to the economy and the environment.

Before the debate, there were many doubts regarding the president’s suitability for office due to a number of gaffes, errors, and instances in which critics said he appeared frail.

Voters have been curious about the president’s health during his presidency, wondering if he would be able to serve another four years in office.

But on Thursday, those worries were confirmed as Biden stammered through his words, speaking hoarsely, and seemed to freeze on stage.

Biden stumbled early in the debate, first losing his train of thought while discussing healthcare.

“Making sure that we’re able to make every single solitary person eligible for what I’ve been able to do with the, with the Covid, excuse me, with dealing with everything we have to do with, look…” he trailed off.

“Look, if, we’ve finally beat Medicare,” he added, before CNN’s Jake Tapper ended his turn with, “Thank you, President Biden.”

Biden also stumbled when talking about billionaires and immigration with his Republican opponent admitting during the debate that he could not understand the president.

Vice President Kamala Harris admitted after the debate that her boss had “a slow start,” but insisted there was “a strong finish.”

“People can debate on style points but ultimately this election… has to be about substance and the contrast is clear,” she said during a post-debate interview on CNN.

The president has been suffering from decreasing approval ratings almost since he assumed office in January 2021, according to an ongoing poll by Reuters-Ipsos.

Biden currently had a 36% approval rating going into the debate — his lowest in two years.

Trump too had a low approval rating at the end of his first term — just 34% when he left office after the Capitol riots on January 6.

CNN host Van Jones was left in tears after Joe Biden’s less-than-stellar debate performance, calling for the President to take a different course.

Following the debate, CNN immediately analyzed the president’s performance, however, many noted Jones’ reaction.

“I love that guy, that’s a good man,” Jones said of Biden.

“He loves his country. He’s doing the best he can but he had a test to meet tonight to restore confidence of the country and of the base and he failed to do that.”

Jones, a special adviser to former President Barack Obama, said Biden should “consider a different course now.”

“There is time for this party to think of a different way forward if he would allow us to do that.

“But that is not what we needed from Joe Biden and it’s personally painful for a lot of people.”

‘Totally unfit for office,’ Farage rips Biden apart

by Harry Cole, Political Editor

NIGEL Farage has branded Joe Biden’s election debate performance “worse than anyone can believe”.

The Reform leader, and Trump ally, told The Sun that the US president is “totally unfit for office.”

His intervention comes as Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer refused to comment on the President’s worrying performance.

Sir Keir would not comment on the dire showdown, saying this morning: “I have to say I’ve got enough on my hands with my own election campaign to go too far into that.

“In the end, the person who is president of the US will be determined by the American people in due course and if we’re elected into government to serve, we will deal with whoever is the president.

“The relationship between the UK and the US is strong, it’s historic and obviously it’s above the individuals who are in office.”

Asked if he was worried about Biden, he said: “Well, look, I don’t think me commentating on the American election is helpful. We’ve got our own election going on here.

“And in the end it’s not for me, it’s for the American people to decide and they will decide and we’ll deal with whoever they elect in as their president.”
