India, US extend digital tax on e-commerce supplies till June 30

India and the US have extended a 2% equalisation levy or digital tax on e-commerce supplies until June 30, 2024, as part of a major reform of the international tax system. The agreement, reached on October 8, 2021, aims to address tax challenges arising from digitalisation. The validity of the agreement was from April 1, 2022, until Pillar 1 implementation or March 31, 2024, whichever is earlier.
