Wheeler Dealers’ host Mike Brewer takes retro sports car on road trip ahead of major modification

WHEELER Dealers’ host Mike Brewer has hit the open road in his retro Porsche 964 Turbo – with his beloved motor set to undergo a major modification in Poland.

The motoring host has had the legendary set of wheels in his possession for over a year as he’s been looking for a suitable partner to help with its re-build.

Mike first revealed the Porsche 964 back in June last year – describing the motor as a “bit of a dream to me.”

He added: “It’s got to be recommissioned for the road, it’s going to have a lot of work done to it.”

Then, in February, the Wheeler Dealer shared a snap of his stylish sports car with the caption: “It’ll soon be time to start the restoration/modification of my 964 Turbo.”

Now the time has seemingly come, as Mike shared two videos to his X profile showing him preparing to take the motor on a long-awaited road trip.

In a video captioned “964 Turbo project gets underway with preparations for the long journey to Poland,” Mike first reveals the bizarre kit he’s been forced to take with him for the trip.

This includes a tyre repair kit, heated jacket, a warning triangle, and even an alcohol breath tester.

This is due to the legal requirement for all motors to carry an assortment of equipment while travelling through France and other countries through Europe.

Then, in a second video, Mike is sat behind the wheel alongside his friend Nick.

He said: “We’re on the road and very excited, we set off early this morning in the Porsche 964 Turbo on our way to Poland.

“We’re going to see this restorer called Car Bone Liveries – they’re going to take my 964 Turbo off of me and they’re going to restore it to a level that I’m very excited about.”

Filmed on the M20 motorway, just an hour or so from the Channel Tunnel, Mike also reveals that the trip will likely take three days to complete.

He’s yet to reveal what work will be done to the classic car.

The 964 model was produced by Porsche between 1989 and 1994, with the Turbo iteration first introduced in 1990.

Mike is known for his love of Porsches, having owned several different models in the past.

However, he recently sold his pristine 912 model, as well as 1982 Porsche SC.
