Man arrested in Allen Parish in connection with June 23 Opelousas shooting
OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) -- A man was arrested in Allen Parish on a warrant issued in connection with a shooting in Opelousas June 23, authorities said.
Gregory Maynard, 36, of Opelousas, is charged with attempted second degree murder, illegal use of dangerous weapons and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic abuse battery.
The shooting took place at approximately 10:40 a.m. June 23 in the area of Juanita Street and W. Prudhomme. The victim sustained severe injuries but is now in stable condition, officials said.
Maynard was apprehended by the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office and has been transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail, according to Opelousas Police.
Bond details were not released.
