LAGOS PRIMARY HEALTH CARE BOARD COMMENDS NURSES AT LEADERSHIP RETREAT
The Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB) on Thursday expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and professionalism of its nurses at the opening of the annual Nurse Leaders Retreat held at LASENA Waters Premises, River Valley Estate, Lagos.
The Supervising Permanent Secretary, LSPHCB, Dr. Abimbola Bowale, who was represented by Director, Pharmaceutical Services (DPS) Pharm. Shakirat Adeosun, highlighted the critical role nurses play in the state’s primary healthcare system. “Their unwavering commitment, compassion, and expertise are essential in ensuring the health and well-being of Lagos communities”, he said.
Speaking further, the Permanent Secretary reiterated that the retreat serves as a platform for nurses to deliberate on key issues affecting their profession and explore avenues for improving patient satisfaction.
He noted that emphasis lies on continuous learning and skill development, adding that through informative sessions and discussions, participants will gain valuable tools and insights to deliver exceptional service.
Earlier in her welcome address, Mrs. Anne Olasumbo Oyesanya, Director of Nursing Services emphasised the importance of integrity, accountability, and ethical practices in fostering trust with patients, families, and communities.
She maintained that the retreat was designed to foster collaboration among nurse leaders. By sharing experiences and best practices, participants can develop strategies to navigate ethical challenges and drive positive change within their institutions.
“With the retreat, the LSPHCB acknowledges the multifaceted role of its nurses not only as caregivers but also as educators, advocates, and leaders in health. Their unwavering commitment deserves the highest recognition”, Oyesanya stated.
