Steve Bannon loses last chance to avoid prison
The U.S. Supreme Court has denied an appeal from far-right firebrand Steve Bannon to avoid prison after failing to comply with a congressional subpoena.
Bannon was ordered by the Court to report to prison on July 1. He sought reprieve with the appeal, which the High Court short down Friday.
CBS News reporter Scott MacFarlane posted the news from the court showing that Chief Justice John Roberts denied the appeal officially.

Bannon ignored a subpoena to appear before the House Select Committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack. He and Donald Trump's adviser, Peter Navarro, repeatedly refused to comply with the subpoenas.
Both were convicted of contempt of Congress.
Bannon is expected to begin his sentence on Monday.
