South Troy Pool set to open for the summer

TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Family fun and respite from the sun! The South Troy Pool will be opening for the season on June 29 at 1 p.m., Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello announced on Friday.

Open swim hours at the pool will run from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Starting on July 1, free meals will be provided to kids on weekdays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

“We are so excited to announce the opening of the South Troy Pool for the season. The South Troy Pool is more than a pool, providing families with a place to make lasting memories and unite our community," said Mayor Mantello. "Thank you to the City of Troy staff, Rensselaer County and the Troy Boys and Girls Club for their collaboration on this endeavor. Our administration continues working to provide safe places for kids and families to recreate and enjoy Troy."

In addition to the pool, Troy has multiple splash pads throughout the city to help children keep cool this summer. Splash pads can be found at the following locations:

  • Corliss Park - 1100 Eighth Avenue
  • Frear Park - Lavin Court, near Frear Park Ice Rink
  • Geneva Pompey Park - Seventh Avenue and Ingalls Avenue
  • Prospect Park - 65 Prospect Park Road
  • William Chamberlain Riverfront Park - 255 Front Street
