Everyone raved over my stylish birthday outfit – it’s £6 Primark PJs, I swear by them

A SAVVY fashionista has revealed the bargain £6 buy that’s become her wardrobe staple – and it’s from the pyjama section.

Laura Gilmour wore the pink pinstriped PJ bottoms as outerwear during a recent trip to the five-star Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire.

She paired the floaty Primark trousers with a white top, cream cardigan and chunky trainers.

And the 29-year-old, from Scotland, joked that she’s “loving that PJ bottoms are now fashionable”.

Laura, who owns her own fashion brand Lala the Label, spotted them in her local Primark at Braehead, near Glasgow, when she nipped in for a pre-birthday shopping spree.

Speaking about her haul on social media (@lauragilmourlifestyle), she said: “I actually wore some of these bits on my little birthday weekend away.”

She revealed that she’s since been inundated with messages from people complimenting the pink pyjama trousers.

“The first thing I’m going to show you, I’ve had so many questions about”, she said.

“Everyone keeps messaging me saying ‘where are the trousers from?’

“And the answer is Primark. Not only are they from Primark but they’re actually pyjama bottoms and these were only £6.

“I absolutely love anything pinstriped and I’m really loving the fact that pyjama-style trousers are really in at the moment.

“They’re super comfortable, I hate wearing a pair of jeans so this style of trouser is so up my street.”

She added: “Primark actually did have some other pyjama bottoms in that I definitely could wear as trousers so I may need to make another trip soon to pick those up as well.”

Laura also bagged a £4 pyjama top which she wore as an everyday outfit with a pair of jeans, a leopard print maxi skirt and Sol de Janeiro body spray dupes.

“These sprays were only £3.50 and to be honest I’m sitting here wondering why I didn’t pick up more because these really are staples”, she admitted.

“These are the kind of scents I would spray to go to the gym, or going about day to day when you don’t want to wear expensive perfume but still want to smell really nice. These definitely do the job.”

Laura’s clip racked up almost 10,000 views with social media users loving her haul.

One gushed: “Going to Primark is therapy…fact.”

A second added: “Wearing pyjamas as normal clothes is my new favourite thing!”

But another gutted shopper wrote: “Was in Braehead tonight and none of my sizes left.”

Why is Primark the place to go to for bargains?

JUST how does Primark do it? Continue delivering on-trend items at such incredible prices? According to bosses, it's down to four points.

  • They “sell a lot of items” – Thanks to that, they are able to make savings by buying in bulk for their 191 UK stores
  • They “do very little advertising”
  • While their clothes offer the “latest trends”, they “don’t use expensive hangers, tags or labels”.
  • And lastly, they try to be “as efficient as possible when transporting products from factories to stores”. This includes things like asking “suppliers to pack our t-shirts so they are ready to go straight on shelf”.
