SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Four people are dead and nine others are injured after a minivan crashed into a nail salon in Deer Park, New York, Friday afternoon, police said.

The crash happened at a nail salon on Grand Boulevard around 4:42 p.m., according to police.

Four people were pronounced dead at the scene. Nine others, including the driver who crashed into the Long Island nail salon, were hospitalized with injuries, officials said.

The four people who died were inside the nail salon at the time of the crash, police said. It’s unknown at this time if they were customers or employees of the nail salon.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

A section of Grand Boulevard from Commack Road to Brandywine Drive is currently blocked off to traffic.
