Harmful goods?: EU questions Shein, Temu over consumer protection

The European Union has demanded that popular shopping platforms Shein and Temu explain their consumer protection measures, particularly concerning children, under the Digital Services Act (DSA). The European Commission seeks clarification on how these platforms handle notifications about illegal products, prevent "dark patterns" that trick users into unwanted purchases, ensure transparency in their recommendation algorithms, and trace sellers easily.
