Leeds wonderkid Archie Gray at centre of Premier League transfer tussle as Brentford join race for £30million star
LEEDS wonderkid Archie Gray has found himself in the middle of a transfer war during the summer market.
Gray, 18, enjoyed a stunning breakthrough season in the EFL last term as he amassed one goal and two assists in 52 appearances across all competitions.
That led to interest from several major clubs, including some from the Premier League.
Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping tabs on the versatile teenager, who started last term as a central midfielder before manager Daniel Farke decided to operate him at right-back.
And The Telegraph now claim Brentford are also interested in the England Under-21 international.
The same source claims there is “plenty of interest” in Gray ahead of this coming season.
However, all Prem clubs are facing quite a tug of war as the teenage sensation is also eyed by clubs in Spain and Germany.
The Championship outfit, though, won’t sell their prospect on the cheap as they will demand £30million.
Nevertheless, Leeds may be forced to sell after missing out on promotion to the Premier League last term.
Farke’s side chased after an automatic return to the Prem but were beaten to it by Leicester and Ipswich.
The Yorkshire giants then came agonisingly close to an immediate return to the top flight once they reached the play-off final.
However, the Whites were bested by Southampton at Wembley and thus another season in the Championship awaits.
Gray is the great nephew of Leeds legend Eddie Gray and is firmly following in his footsteps.
Gray joined the Elland Road academy in 2014 at the age of eight and made his senior debut in August 2023.
