Thoughts (and grade) on Royce O’Neale reportedly agreeing to re-sign for 4 years and $44 million, which represents good value for both sides: bit.ly/4eMGYrI – 2:43 PM

Phoenix Suns payroll projection if Royce O’Neale’s four year, $44 million deal starts as low as $9.8 million:
Payroll: $216.7 million
Luxury tax penalty: $162.4 million
$379 million roster would be second most expensive of all time behind last year’s Warriors ($384 million). pic.twitter.com/dTKWuU3Vnv – 1:47 PM

The Royce O’Neale deal is a good one for both sides. Covered why re-signing him was a no-brainer and why something in this price range made sense (again) in today’s free agency primer: bit.ly/3RPZTI5 – 1:40 PM

More on this storyline
Gerald Bourguet: Per a source, Josh Okogie opting out doesn’t mean he’s gone. Suns want to re-sign him for a little more than vet min. Top priority is Royce O’Neale (which they’ll get done), then Okogie, then Bol Bol (may be tougher). After that, they’ll target a vet min. PG and maybe a 2-guard -via Twitter @GeraldBourguet / June 28, 2024
There’s also a strong belief around the NBA that Phoenix will re-sign Royce O’Neale, league sources told HoopsHype. O’Neale is expected to command roughly $10 million annually and sign a new deal for three or four years. The Suns have O’Neale’s Bird Rights, allowing them to go over the cap to retain him. -via HoopsHype / June 24, 2024
