Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Team India Stranded in Barbados After T20 WC 2024 Win Due to THIS Reason
Barbados: It was a day that would be remembered for the ages as Rohit Sharma led Team India beat South Africa to clinch T20 World Cup 2024. After the win, the celebrations went on through the night. The Indian team was scheduled to leave Barbados on Sunday, but their departure has now been delayed due to a hurricane alert. A report on Cricbuzz suggests that Indian team may be contemplating a charter flight for their return. There is no confirmation on this as yet. Reports indicate that it is a ‘Category 3’ storm.
“Beryl, the first hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic season, intensified into a ‘very dangerous’ Category 3 storm on Sunday morning as it churned toward Barbados and the Windward Islands, promising destructive hurricane-force winds and life-threatening storm surge, according to the National Hurricane Center,” CNN reported.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has paid heartfelt tribute to two stalwarts of Indian cricket, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, on their T20Is retirement.
After the conclusion of the match, Kohli announced that it was his final T20I game and was later joined by captain Rohit, who also bid adieu to the format in the post-match press conference.
“An Era Comes To An End in T20Is! The Aura Will Stay Forever! 2 Legends of the game. Thank you, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli,” BCCI wrote on X.
Meanwhile, the BCCI has announced a whopping prize money of Rs 125 crores to the triumphant Indian cricket team for winning the T20 World Cup 2024, secretary Jay Shah said.
