‘Are they having a laugh!’ rage soap fans as all THREE shows are hit by scheduling chaos tonight

SOAP fans have been left groaning once again after the schedules are left rocked by TWO major sporting events.

The TV schedules have faced endless chaos owing to the Euros 2024 and now they face further disruptions thanks to the beginning of Wimbledon.

It means that even more changes to the usual schedule will see fans either going without or having to tune into their favourite soaps at a different time.

The biggest move of them all has seen the BBC completely axe EastEnders for two consecutive nights.

As a result of the two sporting events, EastEnders has been pulled from screens tonight and tomorrow in a major shake-up.

It means that fans hoping to get all their latest Walford action on the main BBC channels will be forced to go without.

The soap last aired on TV screens on Friday but now fans will be forced to wait until Wednesday night to watch the soap where the Beeb will air two episodes in one-go.

It will then air a further double bill on Thursday in a bid to make up for the disruption.

Equally, over on ITV, whilst Emmerdale and Coronation Street fans will be happy that their shows are still scheduled to air, they may be left missing out amid a timing shake-up.

Both shows will be pushed back this evening with ITV even opting to split them apart from one another in a rare move.

Emmerdale usually airs at 7:30pm and is followed by Coronation Street at 8pm but this evening the Yorkshire-based soap will broadcast at 8pm for half an hour where it will be followed by a re-run of Bradley and Barney Walsh’s Breaking Dad.

Coronation Street will then follow in the post-watershed time slot of 9pm.

It means it will be direct competition for ITV’s reality juggernaut Love Island.

Amid the disruption, fans have been unable to hide their disdain and have flocked to social media in their droves to have their say.

One disgruntled soap viewer simply beckoned: “Are they having a laugh?”

Another begged: “Wish they’d stop messing up the schedule!”

As a third went on to say: “The annual hunt for #eastenders when sport takes over grrrrrrr.”
