‘Gordon Ramsay would have an aneurysm’ people gasp as ‘top housewife’ makes 66p ‘homemade carbonara’ for labourer hubby

But the 48-year-old wife, who regularly shares cooking videos as she plates up meals for her “working husband”, gave the classic Italian dish her very own unique twist.

Instead of using spaghetti pasta, Jackie, who is from the UK and often prepares frozen meals using cheap ingredients for her husband, opted for a pack of instant noodles.

As well as this, Jackie ditched the pricey parmesan cheese and instead used cheap cheese slices.

Sharing her recipe on social media, Jackie posted: “Cooking spaghetti carbonara for my blue collar husband.”

She first of all added a pack of instant noodles to a pan, which you can buy for just 28p from Sainsbury’s, along with some water and a generous seasoning of salt and pepper.

She then added some slices of bacon, which work out at just 20p a portion thanks to a £1 pack from Morrisons, and gave it a good stir.

Following this, Jackie cracked in an egg, which costs just 13p thanks to a £1.33 pack of ten eggs from Tesco, along with more salt and pepper.

To finish off the dish, Jackie added in three slices of cheese, which costs just 5p per portion thanks to a 83p pack from Morrisons, and a dash of milk, which you probably have in your fridge already, before serving up the dish on a plastic plate.

In total, Jackie’s meal cost just 66p, making it an incredibly affordable alternative to the famous dish.

But the TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @tophousewife, has clearly left many totally stunned, as it has quickly gone viral and has since amassed a jaw-dropping two million views.

Social media users were disgusted by Jackie’s meal, and many took to the comments to express this.

One person said: “Noodles with a side of blood pressure.”

Another added: “Gordon Ramsay would have an aneurysm if he saw this.”

How can I make a quick & easy carbonara?

A CHEF has revealed the secret to making a perfect carbonara every time – and all you will need is five ingredients.

Italian-born Massimo Bianchi shared his recipe with Gourmet Traveller, emphasising the importance of eating it immediately after cooking.

To make the famous Italian dish, which is linked back as far as ancient Rome, Massimo says all you will need is Guanciale (Italian cured pork cheek), eggs (3 egg whites, six egg yolks), spaghetti, Parmesan and Pecorino cheese.

And if you are struggling to get your hands on Guanciale, then pancetta is a perfectly good substitute and can be found in most supermarkets.

The only additional ingredient you will need is a glug of olive oil.

Massimo says that you should begin by sautéing your Guanciale or pancetta in the olive oil until crisp.

Separate the egg yolks and the egg white and then in a mixing bowl whisk together them together before combing 25g of Pecorino and 25g of Parmesan – adding black pepper to taste.

Cook around 500g of spaghetti in salted water and drain, setting aside some cooking water.

Add the pasta to the egg and cheese mixture, as well as the cooked meat – add the cooking water if the mixture is looking claggy.

Serve immediately.

A third commented: “I’d start working 24 hour shifts.”

At the same time, many were concerned that Jackie hadn’t properly washed out her frying pan before cooking.

Do you ever wash that pan?

One user wrote: “You didn’t wash the pan first.”

A second chimed in: “Anyone else gonna talk about the pan before anything was added??”

Whilst someone else questioned: “Do you ever wash that pan?”

In response, Jackie clapped back and penned: “Yes I do.”
