Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson and head of their delegation at the Doha meeting, has announced the commencement of the second day of this session.

On his social media platform X, he wrote that today’s agenda includes support for the private sector, combating drug trafficking, and alternative livelihoods. Mujahid mentioned that Taliban representatives are presenting their “presentations” at this session.

The third session of special representatives from countries on Afghan affairs, hosted by the United Nations, began yesterday in Doha, Qatar, and continues today.

This session is being held with the participation of the Taliban and without the presence of Afghan women representatives, civil society, and other political groups of Afghanistan.

The exclusion of women representatives and civil society from this session, alongside the Taliban’s participation, has faced widespread criticism.

In his speech yesterday, the Taliban spokesperson described the Doha meeting as an opportunity and emphasized that for this session to be meaningful, everyone must ensure they are working towards Afghanistan’s security, stability, and prosperity.

He called for lifting all financial and banking sanctions and emphasized the need to unfreeze all of Afghanistan’s financial reserves.
