‘That’s so foul’ say grossed out viewers as news presenter is left retching after eating a raw egg live on air
BREAKFAST TV viewers were left completely grossed out by a disgusting stunt involving a raw egg.
Australian presenter Alex Cullen is one of the main presenters on the popular Today Show.
The show welcomed TikTok content creator Tommy Armour onto the show for an exclusive interview.
He is known for his viral videos which show him eating raw eggs, complete with the shell.
Alex, 43, decided to give the strange craze a try for himself – with disastrous results.
The host was told that he first had to have sniff of the food item before ‘lubricating’ the egg in his mouth.
Loud laughs were heard by the background crew as the presenter was urged to try the stunt himself.
When he put the whole egg in his mouth, Alex was clearly disgusted as he struggled to crunch through the shell.
It then sounded like Alex was going to be sick as he made a beeline for the nearest rubbish bin, just as he regurgitated the yolk.
The anchor then ran to the back of the sofa with his back to the camera in an attempt to hide away and get the rest of the cracked egg out of his mouth.
After spitting out the soggy remnants, he exclaimed: “How do you do that? … I apologise to the nation for not being able to get that down.”
Predictably, viewers were left utterly horrified by the live stunt and commented on the segment on Instagram.
One viewer wrote: “Oh yuck that’s so foul. The smell of raw egg makes me want to hurl!”
A second exclaimed: “What did i just watch 
.”
“That’s f******* disgusting,” posted a third user alongside a string of puking emojis.
Meanwhile, a fourth added: “ALEX WHAT NOOOOOOOOO ?!!!!!!”
During the interview, the social media guest did not hold back as he explained his love for the gruesome details behind his stunts.
A short video played where he shocked a supermarket worker by chomping down a whole egg that came straight from the carton.
The host asked: “What’s going on here? Why are you eating raw eggs?”
He replied: “That is bit of a daily question now and I am trying to come up with a good one, but I started with the yolks, and I guess the shells got a bit jealous, so I just started to bring them in. Thought I’d get them in there.”
